If you are struggling to cope, feeling anxious or depressed, then consider counselling with me. I can help you make sense of your feelings, gain a better understanding of yourself and bring positive change to your life.
Psychodynamic counselling with me offers you the opportunity to gain insight about aspects of yourself, why you feel the way you do and how you relate to other people in your life. You are invited to think with me in a safe and confidential environment about yourself and your feelings (some of which you may not have previously thought about), whilst considering how these feelings may be linked to your very early life experiences. By exploring these underlying feelings, which at times prove difficult to manage, you may develop a different understanding as to how these past experiences (and how you felt about them), have had an emotional impact on your current life.
This unique Counselling relationship, once developed, allows you to feel listened to and understood by someone who cares, but remains neutral and non-judgmental. Your Counselling experience with me, which may feel difficult and challenging at times, can also feel rewarding and prove hugely beneficial as it can allow for a shift in your understanding about yourself and in the way you might relate to key people.
I offer Psychodynamic counselling to individuals and I am qualified as a counsellor with a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, a recognised British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited qualification. I am an individual Registered Member of BACP and abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
In addition to private counselling, I volunteer at two different London mental health organisations and am currently in the process of securing work as an honorary Psychodynamic Counsellor within the NHS.
I offer the first one or two sessions as your initial consultation sessions during which we will discuss the counselling process and where you can think about whether counselling with me is the right choice for you.
If you decide you would like to begin counselling, we will arrange to meet weekly, on the same day at the same time and in the same counselling room. The session time is 50 minutes, both for the assessment session and for all future counselling sessions.
It is possible for you to have short-term (12 sessions) or long-term (open-ended) counselling with me. Beginning with short-term and then extending to long-term counselling is an option.
